Tiny Tyros – The Preschool of SBOA Schools

The Preschool of SBOA Schools, “Tiny Tyros,” is managed by the SBIOA Educational Trust. At Tiny Tyros, we strive to provide our young learners with an ambience of freedom and joy that encourages exploration and discovery. We nurture their intellectual curiosity and lay a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Our curriculum for the Kindergarten is thoughtfully designed to encompass various zones of learning and fostering the holistic development of every child. Through the celebration of special events, we create meaningful experiences that leave a lasting impact on every child. Each year, we celebrate Veggie Day, Fruit Salad Day, Flowers Day, Colours Day, and more — all aimed at instilling essential values and appreciation for nature and healthy living.

It is vital to cultivate respect for our nation and love for all religions. Hence, festivals such as Ramzan, Christmas, and Pongal are celebrated with enthusiasm and inclusivity, helping children understand and cherish the rich cultural diversity of our country.

We follow the Samacheer Kalvi, also known as the Unified Syllabus, under the trimester pattern. The curriculum is well-structured and comprehensive, catering to the varied learning needs of all students.

Teaching at this level is innovative and child-centered, supported by smart boards, educational videos and interactive Power Point presentations, which make learning engaging and effective.

Students are continuously assessed through the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system. Classrooms are vibrant with activities, projects and assessments designed to ignite curiosity and creativity. Learners are encouraged to explore digital resources responsibly, promoting independent thinking and self-learning.

Important national and cultural days are meaningfully observed to instill values and awareness among students. Throughout the academic year, a series of competitions and events are organized to provide every child an opportunity to discover and showcase their unique potential.

The Unified Syllabus is well-structured and designed to enhance the overall learning process. Complex concepts are made simple and engaging through illustrations, diagrams and visual aids, ensuring better understanding and retention.

Students are assessed regularly on smaller portions of the syllabus, helping them develop consistency, confidence and thorough preparation for the Board Examinations. They are also encouraged to participate in various Olympiad competitions, which strengthen their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills while boosting exam readiness.

In addition, students are motivated to join the National Cadet Corps (NCC), which instills in them the values of patriotism, discipline and universal brotherhood, shaping them into responsible and confident citizens.

The syllabus is meticulously designed to prepare students for competitive examinations such as JEE and NEET. The content is concise, well-structured and logically sequenced, ensuring clarity and deeper understanding of concepts.

Learning is made dynamic and engaging through interactive classroom sessions, group discussions, seminars and Power Point presentations. The comprehensive testing pattern followed throughout the year enables students to approach the Board Examinations with confidence and composure.

To break the monotony of regular classroom learning, the management periodically organises motivational sessions, career guidance programmes and personality development workshops, which inspire students to aim higher and discover their potential.

Students’ communication and debating skills are sharpened through participation in Mock UN sessions, ISRO outreach programs and other academic forums that encourage critical thinking and global awareness.
